Joe Lopina has a BFA in Film from Syracuse University, a MA in New Media and Global Education from Appalachian State University, and is currently working on his PhD in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a focus on children’s educational television and digital media.
He has taught film and animation courses at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts since 1999 and is an associate of the Center for Design Innovation (CDI) in Winston Salem, NC. He is currently a member of the International Association of Animators (ASIFA), Puppeteers of America, and the Puppetry Guild of the Carolinas.
